As part of New Dublin Press's education initiative, poet and scholar Dr. Kimberly Campanello presents
The ‘Found’ Voice
"This talk focuses on ‘finding’ voice in poetry, specifically how the poetic speaker/persona rubs up against a ‘found’, archival poetics. There will be specific reference to the work of H.D., Etheridge Knight and Susan Howe. By tracing my own formative encounters with the work of these three poets, I hope to illuminate a contemporary poetics of both-and. The aim of the talk is to encourage debate about what poets and readers mean by lyric and experimental, modernist and postmodernist and what this means for contemporary Irish poetics."
It will be an excellent event to accompany Susan Howe's reading in Belvedere House, Sunday June 14 at 6 PM.
